Fast and very organised for design and detailing

I made design and detailing using advance steel for many construction projects and it hepls me a lot as the variety in connections and details on the program is so good

I really recommend the program for structural engineers as it is easy to export to another softwares for full design of steel structures and connections

Pros

Advance steel helps me a lot as there are a big variety at connections of steel structure also you can customise your details to match your design also you can direct transfer the drawings easily to other softwares for design

Cons

What i dislike in advance steel that when you are drawing you have to be at the level that you want to draw on 3d and there is no option to draw free on different levels fast

I really like the fact that you can input loads for the connection through the connection vault

Cons

I am not a fan of the fact that if you alter a small part that it does not automatically delete the part number so unless you manually delete the part number you end up with 2 different parts with the same name. I learned this through a fabrication error.

Very useful for any detailing with regregards steel structure

I recommend advance steel for steel structure fabrication detailing works.

Pros

Creating bom/material list is very accurate in quantities.

Cons

Making section on details with far on 0.0 ucs has a bug that the cut section line show zigzag.

Great software for Steel detailing

I am making connection with macros, fabrication drawings and updating them very fast.

Pros

Using macros and updating changes in drawings.

Cons

Using macros is only available in global XY YZ and XZ planes. It is useless in other user defined planes.

I am modelling self supported towers for communication companies and it would me helpfull if AS has "wizard" for these type of structures, like it has for stairs.
